Autonomy
Autonomous systems are increasingly becoming a part of our everyday lives, be they heating/cooling thermostats, home cleaning robots, trains, cars, aircraft flight control systems, unmanned systems, or robots that help manufacturing and surgeons. Add to these autonomous systems, are the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence (non-deterministic). These technologies are outpacing regulators and industry standards. The ASSURE team support the Federal Aviation Administration and Civil Aviation Authorities and industry standards groups in providing applied third-party research, data, and recommendations to ensure these systems are safe, and properly certified/standardized globally to maintain public trust and benefit.
